Parent & Family Small Groups
Parent & Family Small Groups
There are multiple small groups for parents and families at The Community Church!
Families of Middle, High School and College students are invited to gather once a month for a delicious meal, fellowship, and applying Scripture to our lives in the home of our group leaders.
Fathers with young children can connect, grow and share at the monthly Young Dads Group. The leaders, Ross Tanner and Brian Bonica, understand the joys and challenges of marriage, parenting, and faith. They’re passionate about building a community where dads can encourage one another on their journey.
Young Families are invited to gather once per month to share a meal, share our lives together, and support one another in the parenting journey. As our kids grow up, we'll grow in faith together as families.
Helping Kids Engage with Scripture
At The Community Church, we use age-appropriate Bibles to help children engage with Scripture in meaningful ways, with language and pictures that are appealing and make sense. From picture Bibles for little ones to full-text translations for older students, we ensure every child can grow in faith and understanding. Here’s what we use each week and would recommend for home:
Bibles for CC Nursery, PreK, & Kindergarten Groups:
My First Hands On Bible includes fun and sensory ways for little ones to engage during each and every story. We also recommend The Jesus Storybook Bible as a beautiful, colorful way to see how all the stories of Scripture connect to Jesus.
Bibles for CC Kids Elementary Group:
The International Children’s Bible is a kid-friendly translation of God’s Word. This is the one we read together during our CC Kids group each week. For home, we also recommend The Hands On Bible, which is filled with colorful sidebars, and fun crafts and science experiments that connect to the Bible stories.
Bibles for CC Youth:
Every student in CC Youth has received this beautiful NIV Bible. If you, as a parent, are looking for a bible, we recommend this one!
Parent Cue:
A Resource for Parents
The Community Church loves referring parents to Parent Cue, a website dedicated to parenting from a Christian faith-based perspective. They cover all ages and phases, offering free devotionals, articles, activities, and ideas for connecting with your children and helping them grow in their faith and love for others.
In our Family Ministry program, the safety and well-being of your children are our top priorities. We have implemented a comprehensive security protocol, including background checks for all volunteers, secure check-in and check-out procedures, and constant monitoring throughout our programs. Additionally, we have installed security doors to enhance safety, ensuring that the children are securely locked during the time of lessons. In the event of an emergency, a parent or guardian should ring the doorbell next to the door, and a staff member will meet them. We understand the trust you place in us, and we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where your children can grow in faith and fellowship. Thank you for entrusting us with your precious ones, we consider it a privilege to partner with you in their spiritual journey.
